چکیده

It is a challenging task to provide Quality of Service (QoS) control for a shared high-speed downlink packet access (HSDPA) wireless channel. In this paper, we first propose a new dynamic resource control framework integrated with adaptive modulation and coding (AMC) and hybrid automatic repeat request (H-ARQ) to support class-based multimedia applications over HSDPA wireless channels. Then we present a new scheduling algorithm, Delay-sensitive Dynamic Fair Queueing (DSDFQ), to meet delay requirements of multimedia applications as well as maintain high network efficiency. The proposed approach can easily adapt to load fluctuations of different traffic classes and varying wireless channel conditions caused by user mobility, fading and shadowing. Performance evaluation shows the advantage of our proposed approach. 23rd International Conference on Distributed Computing Systems, International Workshop on Mobile and Wireless Networks This work may not be copied or reproduced in whole or in part for any commercial purpose. Efficient Control Channel Resource Allocation for VoIP in OFDMA-Based Packet Radio Networks

We propose an efficient control channel resource allocation approach to enhance the performance of voice-over-IP (VoIP) in orthogonal frequency division multiple access(OFDMA-) based next generation mobile communication systems. As the long-term evolution (LTE) of universal terrestrial radio access network (UTRAN), evolved UTRAN (E-UTRAN) is the first OFDMA-based packet radio network and thus s...

Dynamic single frequency networks

Wireless asymmetric Internet access with a downlink peak bit rate of 10 to 30 Mb/s can be achieved by using the terrestrial digital video broadcasting system (DVB-T) as a supplemental downlink together with today’s cellular systems. This paper is a study of dynamic radio resource management on a packet-by-packet basis for this broadband downlink. The dynamic single frequency networks (DSFN) sch...

MPEG-based Video over High Speed Downlink Packet Access Wireless Network

This paper presents an efficient method for supporting mpeg-based normal/interactive video streaming in High Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) wireless channel. The method is based on storing multiple differently encoded versions of the video stream at the server. The corresponding normal/interactive video streams are obtained by encoding the original uncompressed video file as a sequence of...

ارزیابی سیاست‌های زمان‌بندی در نسل چهارم شبکه‌های سلولی (LTE)

New generation of wireless networks, LTE and WiMAX, supports many services which consume a lot of resources (such as VOIP, Video Conference, Digital Video, Multimedia streams and online Multi-player Games). Supporting multi-media services in wireless communication systems provide new resource allocation challenges. Because of high loads in downlink, efficient resource allocation is vital in dow...
